In the realm of Parisian luxury fashion, one notable brand that deserves our attention is none other than Casablanca, an exquisite creation by the visionary Charaf Tajer. Hailing from Moroccan heritage, Tajer's roots may lie in Casablanca, but he was raised in the vibrant streets of Paris, where his creative journey began. A self-taught designer and gifted creative director, Tajer's early foray into the world of fashion involved co-founding the renowned streetwear brand, Pigalle, as well as other iconic names like Supreme and Off-White.

Undeterred by the scale of his ambitions, Charaf Tajer aims to position his brand among the titans of luxury, such as Chanel and Hermes. The aspiration of being on par with these renowned names highlights the designer's unwavering dedication to creating exceptional garments that exude elegance and sophistication. Judging by the impeccable craftsmanship and exquisite design language demonstrated in Casablanca's creations, it is apparent that Tajer is well on his way to achieving this audacious goal, and it may not be long before his brand finds itself in the esteemed echelons of luxury fashion.

In 2018, Charaf Tajer took a leap and introduced Casablanca to the fashion world. Drawing inspiration from the rich tapestry of both his Parisian upbringing and Moroccan ancestry, Casablanca originally started as a menswear brand but eventually expanded its repertoire to include captivating women's wear. One distinctive aspect that sets Casablanca apart is its bold, vibrant, and laid-back approach to luxury. The brand's eclectic and colorful pieces possess an irresistible allure that captivates the attention of anyone who gazes upon them. Such striking appeal has attracted the likes of prominent figures such as Gigi Hadid, Swae Lee, and Kendall Jenner, who proudly flaunt Casablanca's masterpieces. Another memorable moment in Charaf Tejer, Casablanca collaborated with luxury jewellery brand Bulgari in memorable accessories collection.

As the fashion world continues to evolve and adapt to new trends and styles, the 2023 Paris Fashion Week (PFW) proved to be no exception. One of the highlights of PFW 2023 was the return of in-person shows, following a hiatus in 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite some lingering restrictions and safety measures, the energy and excitement of the event was palpable, as designers and attendees alike embraced the opportunity to come together and celebrate the art of fashion.

One of the standout shows of the week was from the legendary house of Chanel, which presented a stunning collection inspired by the natural world. Featuring delicate floral patterns and flowing, organic silhouettes, the pieces exuded a sense of effortless elegance and understated luxury. Other notable shows included Dior, with a collection that blended traditional and modern elements to striking effect, and Saint Laurent, which showcased an edgy, rock-inspired collection with a distinct 90s vibe

In addition to established names, PFW 2023 also provided a platform for emerging designers to showcase their talent and creativity. One such designer was Giselle Chu, whose bold and colorful collection drew inspiration from her Chinese heritage and incorporated traditional elements such as silk and embroidery. Another up-and-comer was Milan-based designer Simone Tessari, whose avant-garde collection featured oversized proportions and unexpected textures.

Beyond the shows themselves, PFW 2023 also provided a forum for important discussions and debates within the industry. Sustainability and ethical fashion were major themes throughout the week, with many designers emphasizing their commitment to reducing waste and using eco-friendly materials. Diversity and inclusivity were also prominent topics, with several shows featuring models of all shapes, sizes, and ethnic backgrounds.

Overall, the 2023 Paris Fashion Week proved to be a memorable and inspiring event, showcasing the best of the fashion world and offering a glimpse into its future. From established powerhouses to fresh-faced newcomers, designers demonstrated their creativity and skill, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the world of fashion. As the industry continues to evolve and adapt, events like PFW will undoubtedly remain a vital and influential part of the fashion calendar.
