Deep Sea - Feature

Deep Sea dazzles with cutting-edge 3D animation showing a unique, impressionistic aesthetic inspired by traditional Chinese ink brush painting, written and produced by Xiaopeng Tian, whose film Monkey King: Hero Is Back smashed Chinese box-office records. Shenxiu (Wang Ting Wen), a little child who yearns to connect with her missing mother, is visually stunning as the psychedelic aquatic environment swirls around her melancholy. Shenxiu becomes friends with the Hyjinx, a legendary multi-eyed blob of a sea creature, and Nanhe (Su Xin), a fast-talking rogue cook who later reveals to have a golden heart.

The Future - Feature

A young Arab university student from the occupied West Bank named Yaffa (Samar Qupty) confesses to the murder of Israel's Minister of Space and Tourism in the run-up to the nation's maiden voyage to the moon. Requesting authorization to speak with the murderer is scientist Nurit (Reymond Amsalem). Nurit is persuaded that the unrepentant Yaffa is hiding her whole reason since she is the creator of The Future Project, an algorithm-based software designed to forecast acts of terrorism (or, if you're Palestinian, resistance). The two ladies argue over a potentially dangerous string of encounters, resolved not to reveal anything. A disillusioned Nurit moves closer to a deeply unsettling revelation as the truth is revealed and the spaceship carrying a nation's hopes approaches its destination.
